Recycled Teak Furniture
Many thousands of years ago, humans started using their intelligence in order to modify and use the resources around them for their benefit. We have been the only ones to get food, water, and shelter by using our tools and later, our technology. We took what we needed from Mother Nature and made beds, houses and clothes. With time we discovered new applications for raw materials and even discovered new types of raw materials, like oil.
Over the millennia, we used more and more the resources we had around us, until one day, we discovered that there was a limit to the quantity of resources we could use. Lakes dried up, and forests disappeared. We discovered that we had to change our ways or we’d be destroying the world we live in.
One of the things we’ve started doing is recycling. This has been effective in reducing consumption of raw materials as well as in reducing the quantity of garbage we produce.
However, using object made out of recycled materials doesn’t mean that we end up with ugly or subpar things. In fact, some recycles objects are practically indistinguishable from original ones.
Recycled teak furniture is a great example. Teak wood is one of the most resistant woods there are. It can last decades, even when exposed to the elements. This makes recycled teak furniture extremely resistant to water and wind. In addition recycled teak furniture also has a natural protection against insects and bugs, even termites. This makes recycled teak furniture a durable option that is also cheaper than original teak furniture.
In addition, teak wood doesn’t splinter or damage easily. That means that recycled teak furniture will usually be in a good condition. And if there’s some damage that’s really visible, then you can negotiate a much better price.
Recycled teak furniture, like the original, is sought for its beautiful color, its style, and its class. Because of its durability, unless there is some serious, obvious damage, like a broken leg, recycled teak furniture is practically indistinguishable from original. In fact, since most people keep their teak furniture for years, and even decades, it is expected to show a bit of normal wear. That means that you can still get away with saying that your recycled teak furniture has actually been in the family for years and that you just inherited it, if that’s what you want.
So, in the end, recycled teak furniture is a good idea to keep our planet healthy, while at the same time getting great, durable, high quality furniture for your house. It’s a deal where everyone wins.
