Interior Paint Ideas

When you are redecorating a room, it’s best to start from a central idea and work outwards. The key thing is that the whole room flows together. A room needs some continuity within itself. When we start to think about repainting a room or even painting a room for the first time you need to plan the whole room. It’s true that you can always repaint, but if you find out you need to after you’ve already moved in furniture then you might find yourself frustrated. Furthermore this will probably frustrate your spouse. Given all the stresses to do with moving, this is the last thing you want. How silly would it be if that was the thing that pushed you into a horrible fight? It would sound so silly saying “If I had just picked the right interior paint then I wouldn’t be in the doghouse for a month.” In all seriousness, you don’t need that kind of trouble.

When you look at your room, what sort of environment do you see? Is it an island oasis or a straight forward working room? Is it a sleek modern room or a room with old fashioned charm? Do you want to be able to relax quietly and read a book or do you want the room to inspire love and passion in your marriage? Think about it this way, the walls are the background for the scene you plan to set up. If it’s a love scene then shouldn’t the colors help inspire that emotion? If this is a place that you need to concentrate on working, then it probably shouldn’t be a fountain of bright color. If you want to relax the colors need to soothe your mind, and that will in turn effect your body.

Let’s look at our basic color choices. While there are many great color mixes we are going to focus on the basic colors you will need. To start with red is a great color for bedrooms and dining rooms. It brings warmth and feelings of love to the surface. In the right setting it can help create a romantic and passionate mood. Blue is a soothing color that works well in almost any room. Blue has been found to help people naturally relax and settle down. Bright colors will lighten the room, and dark colors will suck the energy out of a room.
