How To Paint Interior

Home remodeling and redecorating can be expensive. You do have a lot of options, but most of them cost big bucks. Furniture, paintings, other decorations all cost hundreds of dollars to change the look of a room. Removing walls, changing out fixtures, and countless other expensive renovations also take a long time.

A much cheaper solution to your decorating troubles is interior paint. It turns a dull and lifeless room into a brighter better place to be. Of course this all depends on how high quality of paint you get. If you settle for a cheap paint, you will find you regret it later. Yes you still will get that nice fresh painted look, and for a short time, no one will know the difference. But after a while (of course depending on how good of a job you did, and wear and tear) the paint will start to peel off, discolor, and generally will lose that fresh feeling it had not so long ago.

This is one of the basic lessons of life, if you cheap out you’ll end up paying for the loss in quality. In this case you’ll want to repaint much sooner than otherwise. This usually ends up costing you double or triple the cost of painting once. By the time you weigh the costs and benefits of high quality versus low cost, you’ll find the low cost is deceptive as it costs more in the long run. That is not to say to go out and buy the most expensive paint. It’s important to do some research.

The first step is going to be planning out your project. Pick colors that coordinate with your furniture and decorations. Do some preliminary research on paint, pick a brand you can trust. Make sure and check the ingredients of the paint, watch out for lead or carcinogenic substances. The reasoning behind this is that if you have children, they may end up ingesting paint chips. Aside from that, you don’t want these chemicals in your home.

Step two is setting up your work area. Move or cover all furniture and clear the walls. Use masking tape to make clean lines and protect molding. Most importantly, cover the entire floor in a tarp, not just right next to the wall. Painting is a messy process and you don’t want to stain your floor.

Step three is painting. Get our your brushes, rollers and anything else you need and spend an afternoon painting. This should be a relaxing process. Enjoy putting a new face on your old room.
